Transit Service, Transportation, and Trails

In Josh’s own words:

Public transit connects everyone.

You shouldn’t need a car to live and work in Chester County or explore all we have to offer.

Josh’s plan:

Transit expansion

Rail service is key to attracting jobs to Chester County and ensuring our communities stay clean and green. As commissioner, along with leaders from Berks and Montgomery Counties, Josh was an active part of the creation of the Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority to continue exploring new and restored transit routes throughout the region.

Improving trails

Chester County’s trails are an asset that make our county special. Josh oversaw a landmark trail feasibility study for Southern Chester County, as well as numerous improvements and investments to existing trails such as the Chester Valley Trail, Paoli Pike Trail, and Schuylkill River Trail Projects.

Revitalizing senior transportation

While public transportation investments come more readily and fares rise to correspond, we must remember that seniors in our community who live on fixed-incomes rely on this transportation to gain access to services. Josh and the Board of Commissioners oversaw a major update and overhaul to ChesCo Connect rapid transport service (formerly administered by Rover) that will streamline and simplify access to on-demand transportation for older residents throughout the county, keeping them mobile and independent without the need for a car or vehicle.
